2 Children Killed in Queens House Fire; 5 Others Injured

A fast-moving house fire in Queens killed two children and injured five others Thursday morning.

Fire officials say they got the call of a fire on 182nd Street in Springfield Gardens at about 9:20 a.m. A 2-year-old boy and his 8-year-old brother were pulled from the flames and rushed to Jamaica Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.

Two other children and three adults were also hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. The extent of the others’ injuries wasn’t immediately clear.

Fire officials got the fire under control just after 9:50 a.m.

It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the fire a tthe two-story home. No further details were immediately available.
