The marketing mastermind behind Pokemon and Cabbage Patch Kids has reportedly signed a deal to buy Bernie Madoff’s posh penthouse apartment on the Upper East Side.
Al Kahn, CEO of 4Kids Entertainment, recently signed off on the 4,000-square-foot home, according to the New York Post. The pad was put up for sale by the feds last July to help recoup cash for victim’s of Madoff’s $65 billion ponzi scheme.
The apartment, at Lexington Avenue and East 64th Street, was recently listed at $8.9 million. But given the struggling real estate market, Kahn reportedly snagged it for close to $1 million less than the original asking price.
The actual sale price is still not known, but sources say the duplex boasts three bedrooms, four baths and a wrap around terrace.
