A man from Long Island – who apparently had a fetish for high school girls – is behind bars Thursday.
Joseph Zink, 44, of Copiague, is accused of stalking the teenagers in his white van as they were walking to school in Lindenhurst. According to authorities, Zink would stare at the girls and snap photos, attracting their attention. When confronted by witnesses, Zink would apparently drive away in his car.
Authorities tracked Zink down and arrested him Thursday morning at Hubbards Path and Route 27 in North Babylon. He was charged with third-degree stalking and unlawful possession of marijuana after authorities recovered the drug in his car.
In addition, the vehicle – which had several windows covered up – was impounded as evidence.
Zink is slated to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sept. 18.
