Tennis great Jack Kramer dead at 88


Jack Kramer, one of the most successful players in tennis history, has died at his home in Los Angeles. He was 88.

A spokesman told BNO News that Kramer died of cancer overnight. A statement was being prepared, he said.

Jack Kramer was born on August 1, 1921 in Las Vegas and was the world’s number one tennis player for years in the 1940s. His brother, Bob, is currently the tournament director of the L.A. Tennis Open.
